At 78, Yoko Ono, wife of legendary John Lennon, is finally ready to come back to India and see the sights that inspired her husband to write many songs. “I have a very beautiful memory of India and the trip I made with John (in 1968). I didn’t feel like coming back alone when John passed away. But now I am ready to return,” she said in an email interview. Though Lennon and Ono did make a few rumoured secret trips to the country, Ono confesses, “They were not as magical as the first one, when India wooed me.”

Ono says she is coming to India for inspiration. “The visit in the past was just to appreciate and enjoy India’s land and culture. This time I am coming for encouragement and inspiration,” she says. Maybe even from Bollywood! ...
