There were nine international Jazz bands that held the audience captive at Nehru Park for three days during the recently held Delhi Jazz Festival. But if there was one performer who received requests of an encore with each song, it was Mexican singer Magos Herrera. Blending elements from various traditions, she’s stretching the notion of jazz, pushing past the diva pleasantries into a sound that’s bold, thrilling and effortlessly global.
